STAFF / BOARD OF DIRECTORS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: Sal Russo
Sal has been involved in all aspects of video production for over twenty years. After receiving degrees in aerospace and industrial engineering, Sal went on to earn his masters in “media and technology” from Boston University. He was the supervisor of the video production department at General Electric in Lynn, Massachusetts from 1978 to 1987. Then Sal became the president of VALED Video Services in 1987 when he started his own corporate video production company. Sal has always been committed to staying on the cutting edge of technology, and in 1998 co-created Arcamedia Inc., a company that produced all aspects of multimedia productions. In 2002, Sal left the corporate world to successfully do freelance video and multimedia productions. Sal became the Executive Director of SATV in January of 2003.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR: Patrick Kennedy
Patrick Kennedy is a graduate of Endicott College, and has lived and worked in Salem since graduating in 2000. Patrick started at SATV as a full-time intern, then became a part-time staff providing expertise with various studio and field productions, and in March 2006 became the Training & Production Coordinator. In February 2011, Patrick became our Program Director.
TRAINING AND PRODUCTION DIRECTOR : Steve Spencer
Steve is a graduate of Salem State University. He earned a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Media Production and a minor in Interactive Multi-Media. Steve graduated college with honors in 2012. In 2011 Steve interned at Salem Access TV where he won producer of the year. Steve has worked on countless video projects assuming every role of production. As the Training and Production Coordinator for SATV he aims to serve the community of Salem, and create a friendly and opportunistic environment for all. Steve has been a Salem resident since 2004 and an SATV member since 2006.
ACCESS PRODUCTION COORDINATOR: Mike Murray
Mike is a Salem State University graduate with a concentration in Media Production. He started at Salem Access Television as an intern in 2012 and became the Production Assistant in the Spring of 2014, working on numerous studio and field productions. Since March of 2015, Mike is the Access Production Coordinator for SATV and has worked to create more content for the station to help better involve and inform the community. He grew up and still lives in Salem.
ACCESS PRODUCTION COORDINATOR: Adam Kooken
Adam is a Montserrat College of Art graduate. Adam has done numerous freelance video work and interned at SATV summer 2014. Adam is a Photographer and a video production professional. Adam was the production assistant for SATV and was hired full time in March 2016.
ACCESS PRODUCTION COORDINATOR: Alan Hanscom
Alan is a Boston School of the Museum of Fine Arts graduate with a specialty in digital arts and animation. He was hired by WGBH to be on the animation team for the kids’ quiz show, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? For quite a while, he juggled two other occupations with being a graphic designer/animator: hospital labratory Medical Technologist and a Science Fiction Writer. He now enjoys covering events in the busy City of Salem for Salem Access TV.
